HPLS&S2016 logoHPLS&A 2016
21st International Symposium on High Power Laser Systems and Applications
05-09 Sep-2016; Gmunden, Austria.
For over thirty years GCL&HPL has provided an excellent opportunity for researchers in gas, chemical and high power lasers, along with the end-users of these lasers to exchange ideas, review the state-of-the-art and foresee emerging trends within the field. Its scope is broad, including fundamental research, laser development, systems engineering and gas, chemical and high power laser applications in a wide range of fields.
T. Hesse and T. Häcker from Trumpf will present a paper on, “Status and prospects in 2D laser cutting.”

International Laser Technology Congress 2016
27-29 Apr-2016; Aachen, Germany
For the eleventh time, laser manufacturers and laser users from various branches will meet at the biannual International Laser Technology Congress AKL. Featuring over 600 participants, around 90 speakers and over 40 sponsors, the AKL has established itself as the leading forum for applied laser technology in Europe.
There will be a dedicated HALO session at this event as part of the Laser Material Processing-Macro conference on FRI 29-Apr-2016.

 

Photonics Europe 2016
03-07 Apr-2016; Brussels, Belgium
With over 1200 presentations and 18 conferences, this major European event covers a wide range of photonic technology including highly integrated and functional components, advances in laser and amplifier technologies and photonics in industrial applications.
HALO had a tabletop in the Photonics Innovation Village!
On 05-Apr-2016 there was also a presentation on the project results at the workshop on Advanced Manufacturing and Photonics for Production

 

International Laser Symposium & International Symposium “Tailored Joining” 2016

The 9th International Symposium in Dresden combines, the former workshops »FiSC« and »High-power Diode Lasers« as well as the »Tailored Joining Symposium« into one unique conference.
Prof. Schulz (ILT) gave a presentation on, “Meta-Modelling towards virtual production engineering”
There was also a HALO booth at this event.

 

Photonics West 2016

SPIE Photonics West is the largest conference for optoelectronics, photonics, microfabrication, lasers, and biomedical optics. Sub-conferences include: BiOS (includes biomedical optics, photonic therapeutics and diagnostics, tissue optics, laser-tissue interaction, microscopy, and imaging) and LASE (includes laser source engineering, nonlinear optics, laser applications, high powered lasers, materials processing).

NOLAMP 2015 logoNOLAMP 2015
15th Nordic Laser Materials Processing Conference

25-27 Aug-2015; Lappeenranta, Finland
The purpose of the NOLAMP conference is to bring researchers, industrialists and students together for discussions on applications of lasers in materials processing. The conference will cover the latest laser research and development work performed by industries, institutes and universities in the Nordic countries. Topics include: laser cutting, welding, hybrid welding, marking, drilling and surface treatment; lasers and laser systems,  including optics and beam delivery systems and simulation of laser processing.
There were several presentations from LEL, LTU and ILT at this event!

Held every two years, LASER World of PHOTONICS is a key event for the industry. An extensive program of related events, current focus topics and the World of Photonics Congress – the leading European scientific congress (in the Top 3 worldwide) that is held in conjunction with the fair – create a unique combination of research, innovative technology and industrial application sectors. The last event in 2013 (the 40th anniversary) set a new record in the number of exhibitors with 1,130 exhibiting companies from 37 countries. At 54 percent, the share of foreign visitors among the nearly 27,000 industry professional who attended the fair also set a new record.

HALO had a strong presence at the event, with exhibits from G&H and Trumpf. There were several presentations at the Congress, including:

CEOI logoCEOI Space Technology Showcase
13-Nov-2014; London, UK
The Centre for EO Instrumentation and Space Technology (CEOI-ST) is hosting its Fourth Biennial Technology Showcase on Thursday 13th November 2014. This will include a variety of laser and photonic-related sensor and instrumentation.
Peter MacKay will present a poster on G&H HALO components and their space applications.

International Congress on Applications of Lasers & Electro-Optics
19-23 Oct-2014; San Diego, USA
This large congress event has a 31 year history as a conference where researchers and end-users meet to review the state-of-the art in laser materials processing and predict where the future will lead. From its inception, ICALEO has been devoted to the field of laser materials processing and is viewed as the premier source of technical information in the field.
Two HALO papers will be presented: “Differences in cutting efficiency between CO2 and fiber lasers when cutting mild and stainless steels,” covering work from LTU, Laser Expertise and Fraunhofer ILT.
“Laser Microjet© cutting of up to 3 mm thick sapphire,” will describe further details of the Synova technology.
Jetro Pocorni (LTU) won 2nd Place in the ICALEO 2014 Student Paper Award Contest.

 

EuroPhoton 2014 
6th EPS-QEOD Europhoton Conference
24-29 Aug-2014; Neuchatel, Switzerland
This unique conference features the latest breakthroughs in the area of coherent light sources. The conference programme includes: a two-day Summer School on “Frontiers of Solid-State Light Sources,” the main conference on “Solid-State Lasers” and “Fibre and Waveguide Devices” and a half-day Special Symposium on “Lasers for Biomedical Imaging and Sensing”

International Trade Fair for Laser Material Processing
24-26 Jun-2014; Stuttgart, Germany
LASYS shows the entire range of applications of lasers in material processing – from separating to joining, from labelling to cleaning.  Topics covered include applications, trends and innovations and it offers a platform to present new production processes.
Trumpf Laser will exhibit at this event and Prof. Wolfgang Schulz will be part of the expert panel.

AKL 2014
International Laser Technology Congress

This major event, organised by HALO partner Fraunhofer ILT, brings together users, manufacturers and to exchange ideas on the current state and perspectives of laser technology.
In the tenth event in the series, over 600 participants and 60 speakers will attend.
ILT will present HALO work at this event.

 

Photonics Europe 2014

SPIE Photonics Europe 2014-Photonics, Optics, Lasers, Micro- and Nanotechnologies

With over 1500 presentations and 18 conferences, this major European event covers a wide range of photonic technology including highly integrated and functional components, advances in laser and amplifier technologies and photonics in industrial applications.

Laser Symposium (FiSC)
27-28 Feb-2014; Dresden, Germany
This major industrial event will combine two successful Fraunhofer symposia: the International Laser Symposium “Fibre, disc & diode” (FiSC) and “Tailored joining.” Topics will include a wide range of laser technologies for industrial applications.
HALO will have a tabletop at this event!

Power beam delivery and manipulation

This event is highly relevant to the HALO themes: “achieving high flexibility and productivity with lasers.”  The workshop brings together industrial and academic experts from the UK, Europe and the USA to provide a series of talks on the current state-of-the-art. The scope includes free space and fibre optic beam delivery, workstation integration and beam sharing considerations, robotic control of laser beams, high speed scanning for large area surface functionalisation and applications of integrated systems including laser cladding and hardening and remote decommissioning applications.
HALO will have a tabletop exhibition space at this event!


Workshop “Laserbearbeitung von Glaswerkstoffen”

26-Nov-2013; Hannover, Germany
This event, organised by the Laser Zentrum Hannover and the Bayern Laserzentrum, invites researchers, users and manufacturers from the field
of glass processing. The workshop includes many topics relevant to HALO, and has a strong industrial perspective.
Trumpf Laser will present HALO work on glass cutting using picosecond lasers.

NOLAMP 2013

The 14th Nordic Laser Materials Processing Conference
26-28 Aug-2013; Gothenburg, Sweden
These conferences on Nordic Laser Material Processing, NOLAMP have been running since 1987 to establish a fruitful cooperation among Nordic laser researchers. Also NOLAMP intended to provide a forum for young researchers to present on-going works and to establish contacts in the scientific community as well as in industry.  Topics covered include laser welding, laser cutting, laser micro-machining, laser surface treatment and other laser processes (rapid prototyping, laser forming, etc.).
Prof. Alexander Kaplan (LTU) is the conference host and there will be a HALO table-top exhibition space at this event.

 

CLEO 2013
Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics

CLEO serves as a premier international forum for scientific and technical optics, uniting the fields of lasers and opto-electronics by bringing together all aspects of laser technology, from basic research to industry applications. Attendees have the opportunity to hear and present groundbreaking research, share ideas, and network with colleagues and luminaries. CLEO presents a world-renowned, peer-reviewed program and offers high quality content.

Laser World of Photonics
13-16 May-2013; Munich, Germany
LASER World of PHOTONICS celebrates its 40-year anniversary in May 2013. When it was last held in 2011, more than 1,100 companies from 38 countries exhibited at the fair. A total of 27,490 visitors from 80 countries attended. Every two years, the International Trade Fair for Optical Technologies and the World of Photonics Congress bring together the world’s leading personalities in the photonics industry. The 2013 fair will revolve around the focus topics of Lasers and Laser Systems for Production Engineering, Biophotonics and Medical Technology and Illumination and Energy. The World of Photonics Congress also deals with these topics in a series of conferences. As part of the congress, once again application panels that focus on solution approaches based on optical technologies will be held in the photonics forums in the exhibition halls.
