Dr. Dirk Petring (Fraunhofer ILT) was invited to give a presentation on the HALO project to the 66th Annual Assembly of the International Institute of Welding (IIW) in Essen (13-Sep-2013).
This presentation included some recent results from the project, including fibre pump beam shapers from G&H, demonstration of a doughnut mode 2.1 um Ho:YAG laser at Southampton ORC and novel “striped polarisation” techniques from Trumpf.
